These terms apply to the MusicX app, its connected features, and this website. MusicX is currently in development and testing; public downloads are not yet available. Features can differ between iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, and a future Windows release. By using a MusicX build, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use MusicX.
Your music and your sources
MusicX is a player and library manager for music files you provide. It is not a licensed music catalog or a music subscription. You keep ownership of your files and are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to store, play, edit, copy, or transfer them. Only connect folders, accounts, servers, and devices that you are authorized to use.
MusicX can read your selected sources and, when you choose an action, edit metadata, manage library information, download or transfer files, or sync app state. Some actions can change or remove data. Keep a separate backup of music that matters to you and review any confirmation before deleting files or sources.
Connected services
Optional features can use iCloud, Google Drive, an SMB/NAS server, nearby MusicX devices, or services that provide recognition, artwork, or lyrics. You choose which connections to enable. Each provider has its own terms, privacy practices, availability, storage limits, and possible charges. A provider connection does not give MusicX ownership of your files, and a MusicX sync point does not automatically upload your music library.
Google Drive access is used only for the MusicX features you authorize, as described in our Google Drive explanation and privacy policy. You can disconnect a service in MusicX or revoke access through that provider's account controls. Disconnecting may not remove copies already stored on another device or in that provider's storage.
Respecting rights and security
Do not use MusicX to access a source without permission, distribute music or other content unlawfully, interfere with another person's devices, or bypass the app's pairing and security controls. MusicX, its name, and its app design remain the developer's work. Artwork, recordings, lyrics, and provider results remain subject to their respective owners' rights and terms.
Stores, purchases, and availability
If MusicX is distributed through the App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store, that store's applicable license, purchase, refund, and account rules also apply. These MusicX terms do not replace a store's required license terms or your rights under applicable law. The website does not sell MusicX or process payments.
Test builds and connected services can change or become unavailable. MusicX cannot guarantee that every file, network source, provider result, or device transfer will always work. To the extent permitted by law, MusicX is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted service or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot legally be limited.
Privacy and changes
Our privacy policy explains what MusicX keeps on your device and what optional connections may share with providers. We may update these terms as the app develops. The updated page will show a new date; when a change materially affects users, we will provide additional notice where required. If you disagree with an update, you can stop using MusicX and disconnect its connected services.
